AirPods 4

AirPods 4: Two versions of the same headphones

AirPods 4 are available in two versions, sharing the same shape and H2 chip. They lack silicone eartips, meaning the earbuds fit loosely in the ear, making them a better choice for those who find eartips tight. Both versions are IP54 dust, sweat, and water resistant, support personal spatial sound with head tracking, and offer voice isolation for calls.

• AirPods 4: Up to 5 hours of listening time and up to 30 hours with the case; the case charges via USB-C.
• AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation: noise cancellation, adaptive mode, transparency, and conversation detection. Up to 4 hours of listening time with noise cancellation on and up to 5 hours without.

The noise-canceling version's case also charges wirelessly, using an Apple Watch or Qi charger. Its speaker plays sound when you search for the earbuds using Find My.

Apple sells the USB-C cable separately; neither version comes in the box. Five minutes in the case gives you about an hour of listening time.

AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 3

If noise is a serious concern, whether on a plane or in public transportation, consider the AirPods Pro 3. Five ear tip sizes provide a secure seal, stronger noise cancellation, and a battery life of up to 8 hours. The Pro 3 features a heart rate monitor for workouts, hearing-enhancing features, and IP57 rating.

For calls, podcasts, and music at home, AirPods 4 without noise cancellation are sufficient. The noise-canceling version is suitable if you prefer an open fit and quieter listening experience on the go.
